Steps to Add Apps to Your Slack Workspace

Integrating apps with your Slack workspace is straightforward and intuitive. Here’s a simple guide to get started:

1. Share your Slack Workspace ID with us

Whether you’re onboarding directly or through our partner Quench.ai, please share your Slack Workspace ID or Org ID with us before onboarding.

For those on a Free, Pro, and Business+ Slack subscriptions:

  • From your desktop, open Slack in a web browser using your workspace URL (e.g. a1companyltd.slack.com).

  • Once the page loads, the URL will be in the following format: https://app.slack.com/client/TXXXXXXX/CXXXXXXX.

  • Your workspace ID is the string beginning with T.

For those with an Enterprise Grid Subscription:

  • From your desktop, open Slack in a web browser using your org URL (e.g. a1companyltd.enterprise.slack.com).

  • Once the page loads, the URL will be in the following format: https://app.slack.com/client/EXXXXXXX/CXXXXXXX.

  • Your org ID is the string beginning with E.

Alternatively, visit the Slack App Directory in your web browser.

2. Add the App to Your Workspace

We will then share with you a URL where you can request the connection of the app with your workspace.

  • Simply click on this button to be directed to the authorization page

3. Approve Permission and

For team security, admins can review app permissions and determine what data the app can access. Click on the allow button to grant all permissions for the app to perform its tasks.

4. Set up and Use the App

Once the app is installed, you can access it through the Apps section of your Slack workspace:

Depending on your workspace permissions, the app may not be visible by default which will require YouTube to click on the + Add apps button taking you to the following page. Simply click on the Quench Question Bot app from the list:

You will then be taken to the apps page, and the app will now show on your left-hand side menu too:
